The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), a pro-government support group, has begun sponsoring Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration for 10,000 students in Imo State.
The initiative was launched in Owerri, where officials of the group met with students and youth leaders. According to the organisers, the programme is designed to remove financial obstacles that prevent many students from registering for the national university entrance examination.
SERHA’s National Coordinator, Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, said the group would fully pay the cost of JAMB registration for all beneficiaries. He explained that the effort is part of the broader Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a focus on education and youth development.
The group disclosed that the Imo intervention is part of a regional plan to support 50,000 students across the South-East, allocating 10,000 beneficiaries to each state.
SERHA added that the programme aims to boost access to tertiary education and encourage academic advancement among young Nigerians.
