The government of Kano State, led by Abba Kabir Yusuf, has begun distributing 54,600 bags of rice to support the needy during the holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution started on Maganda Road, Kano, with Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa confirming the rollout. 91 trucks have been deployed: 44 trucks will deliver rice directly to the state’s 44 local government areas, while 47 trucks will distribute rice to individuals and organizations across the state.
Committees at both the state and local government levels have been established to ensure fairness and transparency. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf called on the Federal Government of Nigeria
The initiative has received praise from Sanata Barau Jibrin and the Kano chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGN), who assured that local councils would guarantee equitable distribution.
