Israeli forces have killed at least two Palestinians in separate incidents across the Gaza, while continuing to restrict the exit of thousands of patients seeking urgent medical treatment through the Rafah crossing into Egypt.
According to Al Jazeera, a child was killed in a drone strike in northern Gaza. In a separate incident, a 20-year-old Palestinian, Muhand Jamal al-Najjar, was reportedly shot dead near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of Khan Yunis.
The report states that Israeli authorities continue to severely limit medical evacuations through the Rafah crossing despite repeated appeals from humanitarian and health organisations. Only about 260 patients have been allowed to leave Gaza for treatment, even though more than 18,500 people are said to be in urgent need of specialised medical care.
International health bodies, including the World Health Organization, have called for immediate and expanded access to allow critically ill and injured civilians to receive life-saving treatment outside Gaza.
The developments come amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which continues to fuel a worsening humanitarian crisis and rising civilian casualties.
