Iran Criticises E3, Claims Europe Has Become Irrelevant in Nuclear Diplomacy.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has delivered a strong rebuke of European powers, saying they no longer play a meaningful role in efforts to resolve the dispute over Iran’s nuclear programme.

Araghchi said the three European countries known as the E3 — France, the United Kingdom and Germany — have failed to influence the direction of negotiations between Iran and the United States. He argued that Europe’s diplomatic engagement has weakened significantly in recent years.

The Iranian foreign minister also criticised the Munich Security Conference, saying discussions on Iran at the forum lack seriousness and practical outcomes, and no longer contribute constructively to resolving the nuclear issue.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, Araghchi stressed that countries in the Middle East, particularly those in the Gulf region, are currently more effective in facilitating dialogue between Tehran and Washington than European states.

His comments come ahead of a new round of talks between Iran and the United States in Geneva, where negotiators are expected to seek ways to reduce tensions over Iran’s nuclear activities and address international sanctions.

Analysts say Iran’s stance reflects a broader shift in nuclear diplomacy, with Europe’s influence declining as regional actors take on a more prominent role in shaping the negotiations.
