Gunmen Abduct Chief Imam’s Family in Bauchi.

Suspected gunmen have attacked the residence of the Chief Imam of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Ibrahim Sani, in Bauchi State, abducting his wives, children, and other relatives.

The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Dagalai town, Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Security analyst, Malam Musa Bakatsine, reported that local sources confirmed the assailants stormed the Imam’s home under the cover of darkness, forcibly taking several people to an unknown location.

“According to eyewitnesses, the attackers invaded Sheikh Ibrahim Sani’s residence, abducting multiple family members. The operation was carried out under the cover of night, and the victims were taken to an undisclosed location,” Bakatsine said.

The attack has sent waves of fear through the local Muslim community, highlighting the growing security challenges in parts of the country. 
Observers have warned that such incidents could further exacerbate the already fragile security situation if immediate action is not taken.
